Vetrone Out at FDU

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Fairleigh Dickinson University has opted not to renew the contract of men's basketball head coach Greg Vetrone, announced by Director of Athletics David Langford on Tuesday.
"I feel the time has come to look for a new direction for the men's basketball program," Langford said. "I would like to thank Coach Vetrone for his time and service to the University, the athletic department and the men's basketball program."

Vetrone took over the reins of the Knights' basketball program as the interim head coach during the 2009-10 season, replacing Tom Green. That season, under Vetrone's direction, FDU compiled a 10-8 record in the Northeast Conference, which included a berth to the league tournament. For his efforts, Vetrone had the interim tag removed and was awarded a three-year contract.
Over his four year tenure, Vetrone led the Knights to an overall record of 26-95, including a 16-55 mark in NEC play.
A search for Vetrone's replacement will begin immediately.
