Thursday Hoops For Troops Results

On Thursday we drove back up to Roselle Catholic for the second night of the Holiday Hoops for Troops event. One of the highlights of the event is the return to NJ of former St. Pat's Coach Kevin Boyle. He brought his nationally ranked Montverde Academy team from Florida up for the last game each night. The second night card includes a pair of boys games and a girls game.
In the first game Westfield edged Governor Livingston 32-29. 6-foot-7 Sr. Scott Toresco amd So. Sean Elliott divided 14 for Westfield. 6-foot-1 Jr. Vic Candelero tallied 10 for Governor Livingston.
In the second game Montverde Academy showed their dominance once again with a 77-51 win over NJ Hoops 2nd ranked high school team, Roselle Catholic. 6-foot-4 Jr. D'Angelo Russell scored 21 first half points for the winners. 6-foot-8 Syracuse bound Sr. Tyler Roberson tallied 14 points and 10 boards for the Lions.
