Spring Fling Phase 3

Once again the final phase of the Playaz Spring Fling focused on the 16 & Under Division. This weekend featured action in north jersey in both the 16U and 14U divisions.
The 16U division was very strong at the top with many of the top Nike travel teams battling for spots in the EYBL.

16 & UNDER DIVISION
There were 24 teams in the 16 & Under Division.

In the quarters: Scan edged CP3. 6-foot-1 Hoosac NY So. Unique McLean tallied 20. Takeover beat the NY Lightning. Boo Williams ousted Team Final. The Playaz topped Expressions 95-83 as 6-foot-7 CBA So. Pat Andree dropped in 30 points, 18 in the first half and hitting 4 treys. 6-foot-6 Cushing Academy So. Kimani Lawrence and 6-foot-6 Lexington Christian Academy So. Jude Samuel each had 24. Quate McKenzie had 14 for CP3.
In the semis: Boo Williams held off the Playaz 98-89. 6-foot-5 Woodside HS Jr. Christopher Orlina led with 18 points and 12 rebounds. 5-foot-9 Teaneck Fr. LeAndre Washington scored 21, 19 in second half for the Playaz. Takeover edged Scan.
In the championship: Boo Williams thwarted Takeover 73-56 with Orlina going for 15. 6-foot-5 National Christian So. Mohammed Kabir had 15 for Takeover.
14 & UNDER DIVISION
There were 12 teams in the 14 & Under Division.

In the championship the Playaz beat Baltimore Elite 54-43. 5-foot-5 8th grader Ja'quaye James had 20 with 6 assists.
