Seton Hall Team Camp Saturday

The Seton Hall Men's Basketball Team sponsored a team Team Camp this past Saturday with 8 strong teams competing. Local teams, NJ RoadRunners, NJ Playaz EYBL, Sports U/ Team Izod, Playaz Red (16's) along with New Heights, NY Panthers, Team Scan (16's) and NY Lightning also participated in this 17u event.
First round winners Sports U/Team Izod defeated the Playaz 16's 60-57; New Heights 73-51 over Team Scan 16s, NY Lightning defeated the RoadRunners 58-47 and Playaz EYBL beat the NY Panthers 72-55.
Second round winners were Sports U/Team Izod 55-43 over NY Lightning and Playaz EYBL 77-68 over New Heights.
The championship game pitted Sports U/Team Izod playing without Markis McDuffie who was visiting VCU and Matt Zignorski of Pope John who is injured while the Playaz were without Moustapha Diagne (illness), Myles Powell (broken foot) and Damien Rance (home in Australia).
The game was a game of runs. With the scored tied at 41 - 41 and 11:17 remaining, 6-foot-3 Roselle Catholic rising Sr. Isaiah Briscoe (19 points) got kneed in the thigh and did not return. Rising Seton Hall Prep Jr. guard Temple Gibbs and rising St. Benedict's So. Trevon Duval handled the backcourt in his absence. St. Benedict's Sr. Eli Cain also scored 10 points in the final 10 minutes of the contest in Briscoe's absence to finish with 17. Sports U was led by Newark Eastside rising Sr. Ahmad Harrison with 14 points and Roselle Catholic Sr. Chris Silva with 11 points and 7 rebounds. The Playaz also received a great performance from Paterson Eastside Sr. Shakur Juiston also posted a double double with 11 points and 17 rebounds.
