NJ Teams at Buzzer Beater Recap

The Hoop Group Buzzer Beater Tournament was held July 26-27 at Hoop Group Headquarters in Neptune and other nearby locations.
This event featured four different age divisions.

17 & Under Division
There were 48 teams competing in two separate brackets.
The NJ teams in the Parkway Bracket were: Roadrunners, Game 7 Sharks, Got Game, Gym Ratz, Marlboro Kings, ShoreShots Largey.
In first round games:
The Roadrunners tamed the NY Lions 72-58 as 6-foot-3 Linden Sr. Quentin Dixon scored 18. The Gym Ratz outscored the NY Falcons 63-56. 6-foot-3 Dwight Englewood grad Keion Osbourne tallied 19.
In the second round:
Got Game got past the Roadrunners 55-45 with 6-foot-2 St. Anthony Sr. Tariq Baker soring 12 on 4 treys. The Gym Ratz thwarted Marlboro 57-47 as 6-foot-3 Cresskill grad Derrick Wilson tallied 19.
The NJ teams in the Turnpike Bracket were: King Street Kings, Raritan Roundballers, Starting 5ive, Wayne PAL, Cyclones, United and Paterson Playaz.
In first round games:
Team United lost to Force One 61-47 despite a combined 22 points from 6-foot-1 Warren Hills Jr. John Bamford and 5-foot-11 West Morris Jr. Dominic Grausso. Starting 5ive fell to CM3 51-48.
In the quarterfinals:
Paterson Playaz lost to JB Hoops
16 & Under Division
There were 32 teams competing.
The NJ teams were: Jayhawks, MSU Skyliners, Central Jersey Future Stars, Jersey City Boys Club, Jersey Elite, Roadrunners, Radiant Suns, ShoreShots Rice, Sports U
In the championship:
The JC Boys Club beat Team Cimi 48-45 as 6-foot-5 St. Anthony Jr. Idris Joyner had 13.
15 & Under Division
There were 20 teams competing.
The NJ programs were: the Playaz, Roadrunners, Hoop Heaven, Crusaders, Thunder, Sports U 14's, ShoreShots Thompson and South Jersey Jazz.
In the quarters:
Canada Elite ousted Team adidas. Sports U topped the Uncommon Bulls. SJ Jazz eliminated the Thunder. The Roadrunners trimmed the Brooklyn Rens 53-52. 6-foot-2 Bergen Catholic So. Taj Benning netted 12 including the game winning drive.
In the semifinals:
The Roadrunners lost to Canada Elite. The SJ Jazz edged Sports U 14's 57-52. 6-foot-3 St. Augustine's So. Walter Harvey had 9
In the Final:
The South Jersey Jazz lost to Canada Elite 78-59.
