Former Felician University men's basketball player Jeyvi Miavivululu (Paterson, N.J./Paterson Catholic) has signed a professional contract in Switzerland, according to the Eurobasket News Center.

The 6-foot-7, 225-pound Miavivululu has joined Union Neuchatel Basketof Switzerland's Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNA). Neuchatel is tied for first in the league standings with a 21-6 record.

Miavivululu recently completed a three-year career at Felician at power forward and center. He ranks in top 10 on the Golden Falcon career lists for scoring (8th, 1037), rebounding (7th, 559) and blocked shots (5th, 68). In his senior season, he averaged 14.3 points and 6.8 rebounds.

"From the time Jeyvi arrived on campus, we knew, with his game and his European background, there was an opportunity for him to play professionally," said Felician head coach Ivan Lewis. "Our message to him was to conduct himself as a professional, both in what he did on the floor and how he conducted himself off the floor. This signing is proof that he has grown into the man we always thought he could be."

Miavulululu, who was born in Belgium, spent much of his childhood living in Lausanne, Switzerland. He played football and basketball at the now-closed Paterson Catholic High, and attended a post-graduate year at Avon (Conn.) Old Farms School before matriculating at Felician.

"Just about every department on our campus touched Jeyvi positively in some way," Lewis said. "The entire Felician community did a marvelous job assisting in his development."

Miavivululu is the first former Golden Falcon to play professional basketball outside the United States since Ethan Kennedy signed with the Uni Rebels in Australia in 2010.

Coming out of Paterson Catholic he was ranked 115th in the Class of 2009 by NJ Hoops
