At a press conference at the Yanitelli Center in Jersey City Thursday, Seton Hall Associate Head Coach Shaheen Holloway was introduced as the new Head Coach at St. Peter's University.

He spent the past eight seasons as the associate head coach at Seton Hall. Athletic Director Brian Felt knew Holloway from Seton Hall and zeroed in on him from the start of the coaching search. Holloway has been a metro area basketball lifer.

In addition to coaching in the Big East at Seton Hall, Holloway has some experience coaching in the MAAC having been an assistant at Iona before heading to the Hall.

As a player he starred at Seton Hall for four years leading the team to the 2000 NCAA Sweet Sixteen.

In high school he starred at the Patrick School, and was one of the key factors putting the program on the map. One of the most dominant, dynamic guards we have seen he was rated as NJ Hoops #2 player in the Class of 1995.

Although leading scorer Nick Griffin is moving on, Holloway has some talent coming back. There were only two seniors on this year's team that finished 14-18.

The top returnee will be is current Junior 6 foot 7 Samuel Idowu who averaged 11.2 ppg and 5.9 rpg
