Gonzo Optimistic

Seton Hall Head Coach Bobby Gonzalez was optimistic when he addressed the media at Seton Hall's annual Media Day this afternoon in South Orange.
"I don't remember being this excited for a season to start. I feel good about this team." He continued. "I think there can be a new kid on the block and his name could be Seton Hall."

As always Gonzo spoke at length on a variety of topics. A few of his thoughts:
It's going to be up to me to figure out playing time. We're so balanced.
We need to get better in halfcourt defense and rebounding.
We want to be that team in the metropolitan area.
Winning is the biggest factor in recruiting.
I've probably pushed this team harder than any team I've been around.
His biggest surprises in camp so far were Eugene Harvey, Jeff Robinson and Herb Pope.
On Pope: He has a chance to be the best rebounder I ever coached.
On his two seniors, Eugene Harvey and John Garica: I would like for them to finish their careers in the NCAA Tournament.
Coming off last year we were close. The pieces have to fit but we have a chance to be a special team.
