Felician Adds D-1 Transfer

RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Men's basketball student-athlete Ayotunde Oyeniyi (Lagos, Nigeria/The Rock School [Fla.]) has transferred to Felician College and signed an athletic financial aid agreement with the Golden Falcons, Felician head coach David DeFerrari announced today. Oyeniyi is eligible immediately at NCAA Division II Felician, and has two seasons of eligibility.
Oyeniyi, a 6-foot-9, 220-pound center, played the last two seasons at Division-I Fairleigh Dicksinson University of Teaneck, N.J. In 43 career games for the Knights, he averaged 1.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.5 blocks while playing 9.2 minutes per contest. He registered career highs of 12 points and eight rebounds in a loss at Mount St. Mary's University on Feb. 16, 2012.

"We are very happy that Ayotunde has found a home here at Felician, and excited for him to join our basketball family," said DeFerrari, entering his fourth season. "We believe he will fit in well both on and off the court. In terms of basketball, he will shore up our front line and become another piece to the puzzle that we hope will allow us to compete in the upper echelon of the CACC."
Oyeniyi emigrated to the United States from Nigeria in 2009 and played one season of basketball for The Rock School in Gainesville, Fla., where he currently resides. While living in Nigeria he was a member of the Warriors Basketball Academy.
Felician competes in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The Golden Falcons will be looking to improve upon last year's sixth-place finish in the CACC North Division.
