On Saturday morning we drove up to Northern Highlands High School for 4 Sweet 16 round games in the Bergen Jamboree. Bergen County has more high schools than any county in the state and the top 23 teams made the tournament.

In the first game 5th seeded Ridgefield Park
topped 12th seeded Woodridge 70-62. 6-foot-5 Jr. Dondre Rhoden dominated inside with 17 points and 25 rebounds. 6-foot Sr. Mike Gibney tallied 25 with 3 treys for Woodridge.
In the second game 20th seeded St. Mary's Rutherford edged 4th seeded Westwood 56-47. 6-foot-3 Sr. Josh Davis led the winners with 19. 6-foot-3 Jr. EJ Bermudez showed nice skill in the low post and dropped in 23 for Westwood.
In the third game in a thriller, 7th seeded Pascack Hills trimmed 10th seeded Old Tappan 60-58 on a baseline drive at the buzzer from 5-foot-8 Sr. Brian Horn. Horn finished a superb game with 32 points. 6-foot Jr. Troy McLaughlin scored 22, 15 in the third quarter for Old Tappan.
In the last game 2nd seeded Hackensack ran past 15th seeded Bergen Catholic 88-66. 6-foot-2 Sr. Gene Marshall led with 23 points, 11 in the final quarter. 6-foot-4 Sr. PJ Reed registered 17 for Bergen Catholic.
All four winners advance to the quarterfinals next Sunday at Ramapo College.
