Battle of the Borders Recap

A new NJ event appeared on the NCAA Live Period calendar this year. The first Battle of the Borders was held July 24-25 at Life Center Academy in Burlington.
This event featured two different age divisions.
17 & Under Division
There were 12 teams competing.
The lone NJ team was the Pirates although there were some NJ Hoopers on other teams We R 1 and NY Lightning.
In some game results:
We R 1 beat Cecil Kirk 60-50. 5-foot-11 Linden Sr. Otis Livingston had 17 points on 6-10 shooting with 4 assists. 6-foot-4 Trenton Catholic Sr. James Wright had 14 on 7-9 shooting. NY Lightning edged We R 1 59-57. 6-foot-4 Bloomfield Tech Sr. Dachon Burke had 8 points and 7 rebounds. Livingston led We R 1 with 21 on 8-13 shooting with 4 assists. Wright added 11 points and 6 rebounds.
In the championship:
The NY Lightning beat JB Hoops 76-62. 6-foot-2 Newark Vocational Sr. Alfonso Anderson had 8 points and 4 assists.
