Voytik adds Big East offer
Chad Voytik spent his spring break in unfamiliar territory up north. But the 6-foot and 190-pound quarterback had a pleasant experience with his unofficial visit to Pittsburgh.Cleveland (Tenn.) High School junior
"I visited Pittsburgh on our spring break and I got to meet their whole staff," said Voytik, who passed for 1,861 yards last year with 17 touchdowns and five interceptions. "I got to see their campus and they watched my film. They offered me while I was there so that was exciting and it made for a great visit."
Along with Pittsburgh, Voytik holds offers from Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Arkansas State. On his next planned trip, Voytik believes he could pick up offer No. 6.
"I am visiting Clemson on April 9th," said Voytik. "I feel there are close to offering and that it will turn out similiar to what Pittsburgh did on that visit. I am also still in contact with Georgia and Tennessee but I think Clemson is closer to offering me than those two schools are."
Looking down the road, Voytik is eying his summer schedule concerning college camps.
"I definitely want to try to visit Mississippi State again and I camped there last year," said Voytik, who also rushed for 439 yards and six touchdowns last year. "I want to visit with their coaching staff again and get a good second opinion of their program. Other than going to Mississippi State's camp, that may be it unless I go to a camp at Vanderbilt or Georgia or Tennessee."
With each new offer, Voytik noted it makes the recruiting process a little bit more difficult.
"With these new offers, it makes you move a little further away from a final decision," Voytik said. "But it does also make you become closer to narrowing down your list of schools and start focusing on just a few schools."
And at this stage of his recruitment, Voytik noted three schools that have caught his attention.
"I like Mississippi State a lot and they were the first to offer me," said Voytik. "And schools like Vanderbilt and Pittsburgh have caught my eye with their academics and what those schools produce on the student side of things. I can't say I have a clear favorite but I am looking closely at those three schools."
