Opening bell sounds tonight

We've heard how good Syracuse's young freshmen could be and how the team could easily lead the Big East in scoring with the talented newcomers joining the experienced upperclassmen.

Monday night, fans will get their first look at the new look Orange as Siena enters the Carrier Dome for first round action in the NIT Season Tip-Off.

The Orange have demonstrated in preseason practices and exhibition play that they will rebound, outlet and get up the floor in a hurry.

The thought of having Jonny Flynn, Eric Devendorf, Paul Harris and Donte Greene on the floor at the same time have some fans expecting the Orange to put up close to 90 points per game.

Let's take a look at the Orange/Saints matchup that begins the season.

Scouting Syracuse

With the Orange having a chance to be an offensive juggernaut, look for them to dictate some of their offense from the defensive end. If Flynn and Devendorf can pressure the Siena guards, Syracuse's transition game will get easy baskets early and often.
