On a day when New York versus Philadelphia was the major story on the sports landscape with the New York Yankees facing the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series and the New York Giants losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL there was another championship between teams from the two cities. The championship of the Hoop Group Fall High School Showcase featured Forest Hills High School versus Imhotep Charter High School from Philadelphia.

In this contest Philly came out on top as Imhotep pulled away late for a 45-31 win. Imhotep the defending Pennsylvania state champions featuring a mostly junior lineup came out with the title out of a 24 team field.

6-foot-4 Jr. Earl Brown led the balanced attack with 12 points and 7 rebounds. A pair of 6-foot-4 Juniors, David Appolon and Taheem Perrin were both in double figures with 10.

6-foot-3 Jr. Denzil Butin led Forest Hills with 12 points. 6-foot-5 Jr. Jose Torres contributed 9 points and 6 rebounds.
