Big Ten media day notes
CHICAGO - Below are some brief notes from Big Ten basketball media day in Chicago Sunday morning.
Older guys step up
It was only Tuesday that Boilermaker coach Matt Painter said that as of then his starting lineup would be Chris Kramer and a collection of four first-year players, whoever they may be.
The coach suggested that those returnees - except for Kramer and the punished Keaton Grant - weren't using their experience to their advantage.

"Our older guys have really stepped up last four or five days in practice," Painter said. "We have a very competitive environment right now, which should really help us make improvements."
Purdue's much-lauded group of incoming recruits has done nothing to disappoint thus far, Painter reiterated.
Below are some of the comments he made on some of the rookies.
On E'Twaun Moore: "He has a very mature pulse to his game. He has a very good feel. He doesn't get in a hurry. He plays like your uncle after Thanksgiving dinner."
